Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation Review // vanityandvodka

Oh Friday my love, how I missed you. Hope you all have a lovely Friday and if you’re working tomorrow.. Retail workers, healthcare workers, taxi drivers, chefs etc. We need you and we love you. Buuuut to everyone else Happy Friday, hell yeaaaah.

Today I have a foundation to review, one I’ve been meaning to pick up for a while after hearing beauty bloggers speak highly of this £5 drugstore foundation so lets give it ago.

This is the Rimmel London Wake Me Up Foundation- it promises to brighten skin, leave a radiant glow and leave skin soft and comfortable all day.

I’ve had samples of this before and even my normal shade (100 Ivory- which is my normal shade for Rimmel) was way to dark for me so I got put off the foundation immediately and was scared this would be too dark for me but actually it’s a pretty good colour match, and I am pale af.

It’s soft and easy to blend on the skin, good colour match, has quite a strong scent and sits well on the skin.

I’ve been troubled with acne for the last few years and my skin is now left with a lot of acne scars- which I do like to cover up and I think this did an okay job.  I wouldn’t like to say I’d be happy with the coverage if I still had acne because it’s definitely not a full coverage foundation.

It does give a lovely glow to the skin without looking oily or shimmery and just wakens you up a little bit.

The above photo was taken after a whole day of wearing this- about 8-9 hours after applying it so I’d be happy to say it lasted all day.  It doesn’t dry my skin out and doesn’t oxidise throughout the day.

I’m a big fan of Rimmel foundations generally and this didn’t let me down so I’d definitely recommend it!

Any other foundations you’d like a review on? Let me know!
