2018 wasn’t a great year for me and my blog. Vanity and Vodka got a little bit abandoned in the grand scheme of things so I’m hoping to get my shit together a little bit in 2019. I thought writing a list of blogging goals would help me out and then I thought it might make a good blog post so here we are!
My Instagram follower gain has been pretty much non-existent ever since I started my blog. My current follower count is 265 and I would love to get that up to 500 by the end of 2019. I don’t know why I find Instagram so difficult but I think I need to nail down a good theme in the new year as well as master the whole hashtag thing.
I’m currently at 1,300 Twitter followers and it would be pretty ace to up that too 1,500 in the new year. I managed a huge gain last year but when I look at my analytics from this year I’m not doing too well. I’m hoping that if I’m more active over there I might see another rise in followers!
I’ve been pretty absent on the blogging front this past year simply due to a tonne of things happening in my personal life but I’m hoping 2019 will be a bit more chill and I can finally start writing more content. I’m not 100% where I want to go with the type on content on Vanity and Vodka in the near future but I generally love writing beauty posts, my travel diaries and mental health posts so I think I’ll be trying to write more of these in 2019. It’s also one of my personal New Years resolutions to start reading more books in the new year so I may be writing up some book reviews too!
I know blogging isn’t all about numbers but I’d really like to work on nailing both my DA score and the SEO of my blog posts. I used to keep track of my DA early last year but completely forgot about it; although I can happily report it was risen very well in the past 12 months so I’m feeling optimistic I can work on rising that further in the new year.
I would adore to attend at least one blogging event in 2019. So far I’ve been to two (The Bloggers Blog Awards and The Bristol Blogger Meet), both of which were amazing and I met some amazing people. I live much closer to Birmingham now so I’m hoping to find an event in the city I can attend!
Subscribe to the Blogosphere Magazine
I have a few copies of the Blogosphere magazine lying around and I truly love reading them but I find them impossible to find in my local WHSmiths so I’m planning on signing up for a 12 month subscription, that way I can ensure I always get the latest edition. They also have a mini event booklet that comes with the magazines which may help me out with the above goal!
If you have a blog please leave me a link down below; along with working on my own blog in 2019 I want to discover some new blogs and give them some love!
